The night when the circus came to town… or rather I went to the circus!
Should you go down to the Royal Albert Hall until 19th Feb, you’re sure to be in for a big surprise. Yes, that’s right – Cirque du Soleil® is back with it’s fantastic brand new show, KOOZA™.
Never having been to a Cirque du Soleil performance before however heard many excellent stories, I had seriously high expectations for the evening – and we weren’t disappointed! Myself and the lovely Emmy were lucky enough to attend the premier of the show and rubbed shoulders with a fair few stars throughout the evening.
We ate at the in-house restaurant Verdi before the curtains opened at 8pm. Not the most amazing or exciting meal I’ve ever eaten however the service was very quick and it put us at ease that the staff were clued up with last entry times.
Without giving too much away, the show follows a young boy as he explores the magical world of KOOZA, guided by the naughty Trickster. The main performance is split between a variety of acrobatics and traditional clowning – all of which is utterly mind blowing. The sheer strength, grit and determination of the performers was astounding and at many points throughout the show, my heart was in my mouth hoping that the show would never end.
This certainly won’t be the last Cirque du Soleil for me; now all I’ve got to do is decide who to take with me next!
